Website Launches to Help Consumers Make Better Insurance Decisions
New consumer information site Before You Insure launches to help consumers answer questions and be more informed about car, home, travel, health and pet insurance.

LONDON, ENGLAND, April 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new independent website has launched that contains information for consumers who are considering purchasing insurance services.

The site Before You Insure is a hybrid of an insurance Q&A site where members of the public ask and answer queries on a range of topics - and a specialist consumer reports provider. There is also an associated blog written by carefully selected insurance market experts.

Before You Insure functions in a similar way to popular personal finance forums online, which allow registered users to pose and answer any question.

Oliver Lewis, of marketing company OLCM that devised the site said:"The online personal finance forums are doing a good job on the whole, but we feel there is room for a specialist Q&A site to cover insurance market.

"What's more we want Before You Insure to be a very direct, user friendly source of information, and not get crammed full of general comments or random thoughts as a lot of forums do.

"In fact, as a Q&A site, we have more in common with Yahoo Answers! than a forum, but we have a focus on insurance issues.

"This is all about people with specific questions getting answers from helpful members of the public who have had similar experiences and are able to offer their opinion."

As well as the Q&A facility, the other main component of Before You Insure is the Reports section which features carefully researched consumer-driven information about areas of the insurance market that are topical and warrant coverage.

Lewis added: "We see Before You Insure as being our own take on the best elements of Yahoo! Answers and Which? Magazine.

"Those are both excellent services in their own right, but we believe we can add value to the online market for this kind of information, and furthermore, we will be focused on insurance."
